Merry Yule! Feliz Yule! (solsticio de invierno - winter solstice)

Este estudio/boceto es de hace mucho años. Creo que lo guardé porque me gusta cómo quedó el mar congelado detrás de ella. Ella es la Diosa. Yule representa la vuelta del Sol, el Dios que nace de la Diosa. Así que lo del fondo, es la Luna ;)
Y como no tenía nada preparado para este solsticio de invierno, recurro a esta ilustración.

I made this sketch/study some years ago. I think I kept it because I like how the frozen sea behind her turned out. She is the Goddess. Yule represents the return of the Sun, the God who is born by the Goddess. So, what you see at the background is the Moon ;)

Since I didn't prepare anything for this winter solstice, I turn to this illustration.

Jane Austen's Birthday

Today, 16 December, is Jane Austen's Birthday.
Two days ago I realized I wanted to do something to remember her day. Not to much time for me, but this is what happened:

Este boceto está basado en Chicago (el musical), ambientado en susodicha ciudad en la época de los "locos años 20" del siglo XX.

This sketch is inspired by Chicago (the musical), which is set in the aforesaid city in the "Roaring 20's" of the XX century .

He has been one of my favourite Artist since the first time I set eyes on one of his illustrations. The book was "East Of the Sun & West Of the Moon", which happens to be my favourite fairytale ever. Life can get just perfect some times :)
Lucky for me - and now you as well ;) -, I found out he has a blog and a Website, which will make anyone a happier person... or at least, I will.
